Community
EDC is committed to delivering sustainable renewable energy solutions to regional Australia to help communities build green energy supplied local industry and businesses, and to provide secure reliable green energy community wide.
Acknowledgment

We acknowledge the Kabi Kabi and Jinibara peoples from whose land at Maroochydore our team delivers our services. We recognise the First Nation's peoples as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work and conduct our business, and acknowledge those communities' continuing connections to their lands, waters and cultures.
We pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging.

Community Enagement

EDC has extensive experience in all aspects of community engagement and commits to always operating with the local community and land owners with respect and integrity.
EDC undertakes engagement with communities in the early stages of a project prior to any commitment to move forward with funding and construction, to ensure a community's aspirations, fears or issues are incorporated in the planning and design stages, prior to any formal approvals.

Regional Development

Whilst some of EDC's projects will be large scale, network level projects, EDC aims to incorporate co-locatable opportunities on the same site to allow for local/regional creation of new industry supplied by lower cost, green, behind the meter (BTM) energy.
This will ensure more job creation within the community beyond the initial generating facility and grid connection.

Landowner Engagement

EDC undertakes to always engage ethically with its landowner stakeholders. Opportunities exist for landowners to long term lease (up to 25 years) or to sell part or all of their property.
Where appropriate, it may also be possible for a landowner to become an investor in a project and benefit from the ongoing revenues generated from a project, via shares in the project SPV, or investment in the early stage development approval process.

Community Benefit Programs

Where EDC retains a position of ownership in an ongoing generating facility, funds will be set aside and distributed annually to support locally driven community based projects to improve health and education services or other special needs programs.

A number of our projects also involve the establishment of Innovation and Research facilities, along with education programs linked to local TAFE and university programs, ensuring further job opportunities within a community.
